Invisible sculptures, literally

Believe it or not, these sculptures, created by a new kind of 3D printing, can't even be seen with a microscope, it takes an *electron-microscope* to see them!

Fascinating!! I should like to see the real sculptures, someday, in Italy, but pretty amazing to think about how small these sculptures were...which, really, couldn't they just be replicated, again? I mean, it's precision technology; not like a human has to sit down and re-invent the wheel, here... Perhaps I missed something in the piece...or do you think that he just likes the "drama" of "the story." ;-)

I wondered too. I guess it was just unusually expensive and such to get them made.
