Not a compact

Bert found this live evidence of the need for more compact camera systems...

Nothing wrong witht he camera system - its the lens system that's the problem.

It's an early prototype of the Hubble Space Telescope.

I think that is the 1200-1700 http://www.mir.com.my/rb/photography/hardwares/speciallenses/12001700mm.htm weighing in at 16kg. I think there was competition at some stage to make the biggest zooms and telephotos.
