Tablet surprise

There's a lot of interesting stuff happening with tablets which nobody saw coming.

What's the point of the separate blog if you keep linking to it on this one? It doesn't seem to be getting comments, so that's obviously why you're doing it, but...maybe you should just kill it or let it die?

Being able to draw a floor plan on a tablet is not powerful. The leverage the tablet offers here is near zero, i.e. no different from scribbling with a pen on a notebook. (It may even be negative with having to change modes and pick tools from a palette etc, whereas the pen is modeless.)

Then there's the whole issue of overhead: you need to get a lot of leverage from the tablet to make up for the time/energy spent on acquiring, learning, installing, configuring, maintaining and talking about the tablet and its apps before you even get out of the red.

... shows us that the issue is quite complex.

Hmm... not necessarily complex, but it is often difficult to see where technology is adding value to your life rather than subtracting from it.
