Another fun combo
iPad with Datamancer keyboard. Works perfectly too.

BTW, sometimes new Photoshop's Content-aware Fill works great. In both pictures I had table edges or objects I wanted to get rid of, and it did it in a snap.

I haven't tried to really get into it, but it feels like they are less great for that. There is more space between the keys and so on. Also, the screen shines in the glossy keytops so the letters can be hard to see if you're leaned back a bit.

It does if you are doing stuff where you have to take the hands on and off the keys often, because these keys don't have the little physical markers on the F and J keys.
Of course to complete the look you need a fresnel lens that's as wide as the keyboard, mounted on a brass frame to get the "large screen" iPad in a very Brazil fashion.
I couldn't use a keyboard like that anyway, as I have used one of these for several years and find the regular ones too cramped. Apprently these split ones aren't that popular, but they are much easier on the hands for marathon typing sessions.
I haven't seen the iPad yet, but all your innovations and gimmicks would suggest one thing: that what people really need is a MacBook. Much better handling.

They are more for occasional use and decoration.
... It might be just an issue of training, because they do say that some people can write fast on them.
Maybe you should comission a steampunk case mod for your 'pad.
Some gauges, pipes and dials. Not to mention an 80 liter steam pressure tank to power the damn thing.

I hear ya. And it's true, it's much better for many things. But it's also much bigger and much, much heavier.
And for reading (and other entertainment), iPad has no peers.
