Tiananmen Square anniversary

Tiananmen Square anniversary.

Now that's brass balls above and beyond the call of duty.

There are some great photos posted at the Boston Globe's
Big Picture photo journalism blog.

"The first 17 photos below were taken in 1989, the rest are from this year, as people remember the events, the ideals, and the fallout from that fateful day. (32 photos total)"

This effing anon is a real racist jerk, ain't he?!

Swiftly shoving tormentors and victims under the same grossly insulting label, yeah, that's real subtle.

Especially that the photo doesn't show what came next.
The bloody tanks actually went over the people, just like that.
And China never changed. But after that crystal-clear message, how could anybody be surprised?

Lebanon ain't changing, either. Today, the people have spoken : they WANT to remain ruled by corrupt feudal tyrants treating them like mindless peons.
Some people literally sold their vote for a sanwich. The clever ones asked for more...

According to what I've read about that, not written by the Chinese, the video footage of it shows the tanks several times trying to go around him. Then after a while he just disappeared into the crowd.

Still, that takes brass fucking balls.

From their point of view there's little reason to change. Several countries today, including China and Russia, have found that they can have their repressive, corrupt political regimes and still be economically successful. They've found that people making bags of money don't complain much.

Lebanon ain't changing, either.

That's a shame. France probably looks pretty attractive, or possible la belle province (a.k.a. Quebec).

Yes, although it's true that the Chinese don't have a stellar record of human rights. It's not like they couldn't change. I mean look at Japan today. Not much resemblance to the Japan of 60 years ago.
