360 degree photos

Here's a man talking about that 360-degree "Matrix" photo setup I made fun of last week.
He's by the way a prime example of a widespread modern speech-impediment (two of them actually)... If you were to make a drinking game of how many times he says "like" or "you know" even in this short video, you'd get alcohol poisoning.

Of course I was making fun rather of the need to see celebrities from 360 degrees in the same nanosecond. Not so much the system. I'm sure there will be actual good uses for a system like this, in science for instance.

What about that system that was used for the 360 degree views of your bronze of the girl sculpture?

That only works for dead subjects, because it's not instantaneous, the subject has to rotate.

Remember those ad's, I think it was for The Gap, where people would jump in the air, there'd be a freeze-frame, the scene rotate, and then the action continued. Got into a bunch of action movies too, and I believe I saw it in The Simpsons too.

So, that was old school, cool and one of those, we can do it, so do it we will things.

For a still of a pop culture icon, fine, but you know 2/3rd of the world are looking for nipple slips and panty shots, so this is not the end of it. Spherical red carpet photos are the next to come.

Maybe this is why there is an "angle" button on my DVD player...
