Game

Do you want to win the game or do you want to keep the game? You can't do both.

Eolake,

What exactly are we talking about here? Hunting, football, or U.S. foreign politics?

you ARE the game.
What's to "win" or "keep"?

Who you ARE is already IT.

Now YOU'RE "it"! :-D

The idea behind the original question has so far kept eluding me - is that sort of a koan?

Or is it something along the lines that people avoid winning the game because then it would be over, and they are just hooked with playing it, even if it feels like losing?

I feel torn between two fundamentally different points of view, too - if our thoughts manifest the world we are seeing then we just need to change our view of the world rather than worrying about what's happening within it. I guess the reason why I still feel the need to meddle with things on a material level is that I'm not 100% sure that I can trust that spiritual approach to work...

Well maybe I totally missed the point but there you go! :->

Ha, and I think I now also got laurie's reply - great stuff, very Zen - thank you!

Do you sometimes have the feeling that you're repeating yourself?

OK, better stop now. :)

If a thing is worth saying, it is worth repeating.
(Old Chinese adage which I just invented.)

Say, is there an echo around here? Hello? Anyone? Anyone? Anyone?...
